Convert to

Transparent areas become white in JPG.

Files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Click "Choose files" or drop your images onto the page.
  2. Under "Convert to", pick JPG, PNG or WebP.
  3. For JPG or WebP, adjust "Quality" if you like; it starts at 90.
  4. Click "Convert".
  5. Click "Download", or "Download all (ZIP)" when you've converted several images.

What it does

  • Opens the formats you actually get

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, HEIC/HEIF, SVG, and AVIF where your browser supports it.

  • Three output formats

Save as JPG for compatibility, PNG for lossless quality and transparency, or WebP for smaller web images.

  • Quality control

A "Quality" slider for JPG and WebP lets you trade file size against detail, starting from 90.

  • Leaves location data behind

EXIF details and GPS location aren't copied into the converted file, which is useful before you share photos publicly.

  • Batch conversion

Convert many images in one go and download them individually or together in a ZIP.

  • No uploads

Every image is converted inside your browser on your own device.

Good to know

Which output format should you pick? JPG opens almost everywhere and keeps photos small, so it's the safe choice for forms, email and older software. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which suits logos, screenshots and images you plan to edit further. WebP usually gives smaller files than JPG or PNG at similar quality and supports transparency as well, making it a good fit for websites.

A few things change during conversion. Transparent areas turn white when you save as JPG, because JPG has no transparency. Animated GIFs and animated WebP files are converted from their first frame only. Photo metadata such as camera details and GPS location is not carried over. For common jobs, quick pages such as HEIC to JPG or WebP to PNG open this same converter with the output format already selected.

Questions and answers

How do I convert HEIC to JPG?

Add your HEIC photos, choose JPG under "Convert to" and click "Convert". The HEIC to JPG page opens the converter with JPG already selected.

Why did the transparent background turn white?

JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Choose PNG or WebP instead if you need to keep a transparent background.

Can I convert AVIF images?

Yes, as long as your browser can decode AVIF. Current versions of Chrome, Edge and Firefox can, and so can Safari 16.4 or later.

Does converting remove GPS location from photos?

The converted file doesn't include it. EXIF metadata, GPS location included, isn't copied over during conversion.

What quality setting should I use?

The default of 90 is a good starting point for photos. Move the slider down for smaller files or up for more detail; it applies only to JPG and WebP, since PNG is lossless.

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Add as many images as your device's memory allows, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
