Spin the wheel
Turn a list of names or options into a wheel and let it pick one at random, for classrooms, giveaways and group decisions.
How to use it
- Type your entries in "Entries, one per line", replacing the example names.
- Choose options such as "Remove the winner after each spin", "Shuffle" or "Sort A–Z".
- Click "Spin". The winner appears in a pop-up.
- Click "Spin again" for another draw, or "Close" to edit the list.
What it does
Up to 500 entries
Add as many as 500 lines; the wheel is easiest to read with fewer than 100.
Fair by design
Each spin uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every entry has the same chance.
Draw several winners
Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin" to pick first, second and third place without repeats.
Shuffle and sort
Mix up the order with "Shuffle" or tidy the list alphabetically with "Sort A–Z".
Made for an audience
Go full screen for a classroom or a video call, and switch the sound on or off to suit the room.
Saved and shareable
Your list is kept on this device, and "Copy share link" puts the entries in the link itself, so nothing is stored on a server.
Good to know
In a classroom, the wheel can choose who answers next or which topic comes up; at work it can pick a meeting host or the order of presentations; at home it settles whose turn it is to cook or what to watch tonight. Because everyone can see the wheel spin, the result feels fair to the whole group.
Every line is its own slice, so listing an option twice makes it twice as likely to come up. For a draw with several prizes, turn on "Remove the winner after each spin" so nobody wins twice. To use the same wheel on another device, such as the classroom computer, click "Copy share link" and open the link there; the entries travel inside the link, and nothing is stored on a server.
Questions and answers
Is the wheel really random?
Each result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, the kind of source used for security purposes, so every entry has an equal chance on every spin.
How many names can I put on the wheel?
Up to 500, one per line; only the first 500 lines are used. The wheel is easiest to read with fewer than 100 entries.
How do I pick several winners without repeats?
Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin". Each winner comes off the wheel before the next spin.
Is my list saved?
Yes, on this device. The entries are kept in this browser, so they're still there the next time you open the page.
How do I share my wheel?
Click "Copy share link" and send the link. The entries are written into the link itself, so nothing is stored on a server, and anyone who opens it sees the same list.
