Good to know
Ten minutes fits plenty of everyday jobs: a coffee break, a power nap, a burst of tidying before guests arrive, a pan of pasta, or a timed quiz or reading slot in a lesson. In a classroom, switch the countdown to full screen so everyone can see how long is left for group work.
If the room is noisy, choose a sound under "Alarm sound" and turn the volume up; the alarm repeats until you stop it, for up to 10 minutes. On browsers that support it, the screen stays on while the timer runs, so a laptop at the front of the room doesn't go dark halfway through.
Questions and answers
How do I show the timer on a projector or large screen?
Click the full-screen button so the countdown fills the display. It works well for classrooms and meetings.
Can I get a notification when the 10 minutes are up?
Yes. Turn on "Desktop notification" under "Alarm sound" and allow notifications when your browser asks. You'll get an alert even if you're working in another window.
Can I change it to a different time?
Yes. Edit the minutes and seconds before you start, or tap another time under "Quick start", which begins right away.
